Tritons open postseason play

BOONE — The Iowa Central softball team begins postseason play here Friday in the Region 11-B Tournament. The Tritons (38-16 overall) open with Hawkeye at 4 p.m. following No. 10 Des Moines Area and Northeast squaring off. Winners of those two games will play on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the finals set for Sunday starting at noon. The tournament is double-elimination. MASON CITY — The No. 18 Iowa Central baseball team bounced back in a big way here on Wednesday. The Tritons posted a 31-9 victory over North Iowa Area, snapping a three-game losing streak in their final regular season road game. Iowa Central (40-9 overall, 18-6 in the ICCAC) has scored over 30 runs three different times this year, sweeping the three games with the Trojans. ADEL — The Fort Dodge girls track and field team went up against several different strong teams here Tuesday night at the ADM Invitational. The Dodgers picked up four individual Top-6 finishes and were second in a relay.
