DES MOINES – The Fort Dodge girls swim team claimed a victory over Des Moines East here on Tuesday night.
The Dodgers finished with 97 points, winning six events.
Kylen Lubensky, Clara Brown, Makayla Knox and Karlee Pearson were on both winning relays. Seniors Lubensky and Pearson – both Manson Northwest Webster students – also won individual races.
"This was a great way to start the conference season by getting a win," FDSH head coach Ashley Beaumont said. "We got a lot of great swims from our girls."
Lubensky, Pearson, Brown and Knox went 2:10.09 to capture the 200 medley relay. The quartet won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:15.12.
Pearson was the winner in the 100 freestyle, clocking a time of 1:02.64. Lubensky claimed the 500 freestyle in 6:15.51.
Adrian Bohlmann won the 200 freestyle in 2:32.90, and Norah Fishburn captured the 50 free in 32.40 to lead a 1-2-3 finish for FDSH.
"For Adrian, that was her first dual. She was right with that girl the whole race, topping her at the end," Beaumont said. "It really showed how hard she is willing to work. I also thought our relays had great showings."
In junior varsity races, Annika Weisberg and Iris McAtee won the 100 free and 100 back. The 200 free and 400 free relays were also winners.
Danica Diedrick, McAtee, Jolee Brooke Gore, Morgan Townsend, Adelyn Meyer, Artemis Winter, Ellen Townsend and Breeanna Kalvig were on those relays.
The Dodgers face Des Moines Lincoln on Tuesday in their home opener.
