Roberts wins for Dodgers

Colin Roberts touched the wall first for the first time this season.

Roberts was the only Dodger winner against Marshalltown in the Dodger pool on Thursday night.

Roberts won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:13.03. Kael Keith was second.

“It was great for Colin’s confidence to win for the first time,” said Fort Dodge head coach Ashley Beaumont. “It wasn’t a great time, but hopefully he can use that as motivation and continue to drop time.”

Marshalltown won the dual 98-65.

“This season has been a good one four us and this group has been dropping times,” Beaumont said. “We went back to the basics and worked on the fundamentals to drop our times.

“Jayden Stanley, who is a JV swimmer, dropped 30 seconds in an event.”

The Dodger quartet of Brady Major, Roberts, Evan Cooper and Keith (1:55.99) were second in the 200 medley relay.

Keith, Carter Jorgensen, Major and Matt Besch were also second in the 200 freestyle (143.77).

Major brought home a runner up showing in the 100 backstroke (1:08.30).

Matt Besch (2:10.12) was third in the 200 freestyle and Aiden Seagren (2:32.33) was third in the 200 IM.

Roberts (25.72) was also third in the 50 freestyle and Keith was bronze in the 100 freestyle (58.36).

The Dodgers are off until they come back from Christmas Break.

Starting at $4.94/week.
