Ann Veneziano scored a runner-up finish here Monday to lead the St. Edmond girls golf team to a dual meet victory.

Veneziano fired a 59, finishing just a shot back of Julia Rivas from Saydel for overall medalist honors at Lakeside Golf Course.

Abby Webster and Ashlyn Swisher added 60s, as the Gaels were victorious over the Eagles, 242-262.

“Really tough conditions with heavy winds, damp air and chilly temps,” SEHS head coach Maury Ruble said. “But four of our six girls carded season-low scores.”

Irelyn Derrig added a 63, Kaci McGonegle had a 65 and Abby Tofolin finished with a 66 for St. Edmond.

The Gaels host the CYO meet on Wednesday back here at Lakeside Golf Course beginning at 10:30 a.m. The field includes St. Edmond, Bishop Garrigan, Le Mars Gehlen, Remsen St. Mary’s, Carroll Kuemper and Bishop Heelan.
