Dodger girls in action at ADM
ADEL — The Fort Dodge girls track and field team went up against several different strong teams here Tuesday night at the ADM Invitational.
The Dodgers picked up four individual Top-6 finishes and were second in a relay.
Ky’Mariana Mosley and Ava Osorio had third-place finishes in events, as Mosley scored bronze in the discus with a throw of 102-5 while Osorio did the same in the long jump at 15-4.25.
“We’ve been running against some of the top teams in Class 4A most of the year,” FDSH head coach Todd Constable said. “ADM is the real deal, as they could compete with just about anybody. We had some really good things, like Osorio in the long jump, Mosley in the discus and our shuttle hurdle.
“We just keep telling the girls we don’t want to hit our peak now.”
Maeleena Meyer was sixth in the 100 hurdles in 17.59. Saiya Noborikawa took sixth in the 1,500 (5:56) and seventh in the 3,000 (12:59).
The shuttle hurdle relay of Adyson Friesth, Osorio, Charlotte DeJong and Meyer clocked a time of 1:12.66 to place second.
Aneliese Schuur, Ava Wessels, Teryn Rippentrop and Brooklyn Nelson placed fourth in the distance medley relay in 4:57.
Fort Dodge heads to Mason City for another meet this week on Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
