Pickup truck driven into Des Moines River

-Messenger photo by Chad Thompson A white pickup truck ended up in the Des Moines River not far from the Kenyon Road Bridge Thursday night after the driver apparently decided to intentionally drive the vehicle into the water, according to Lt. Dennis Quinn, of the Fort Dodge Police Department. Quinn said it appeared the driver, who was not identified Thursday night, drove at a pretty fast speed before bailing out of the vehicle. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources was contacted. The Fort Dodge Police Department and Fort Dodge Fire Department were on scene.

A white pickup truck ended up in the Des Moines River not far from the Kenyon Road Bridge Thursday night after the driver apparently decided to intentionally drive the vehicle into the water, according to Lt. Dennis Quinn, of the Fort Dodge Police Department.

Quinn said it appeared the driver, who was not identified Thursday night, drove at a pretty fast speed before bailing out of the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

The man driving the vehicle was transported by the police to the Webster County Law Enforcement Center.

Further information was not available by press time.
