First win for St. Edmond girls in golf

The St. Edmond girls edged Saydel to capture their first victory of the season on Monday at Lakeside Golf Course.

The Gaels carded a 221. Saydel shot a 222 and South Hamilton had a 227.

St. Edmond’s Ellie Driscoll was the meet medalist with a career-low 45. Kara McGonegle (52), Nora Lee (57) and Caitlin Croonquist (67) followed for the Gaels.

“I’m so proud of the girls and how well they played,” said SEHS head coach Kelsey Felch. “They have worked so hard over the last few weeks to get this win.”

Danielle White’s 52 was low score for Saydel.

South Hamilton’s low score came from Rebekah Carlson (49). Abby Adamski (53) was next.

The Gaels are back in action on Wednesday when they host Bishop Garrigan, Sioux City Heelan, LeMars Gehlen, Carroll Kuemper and Remsen St. Mary’s for the CYO meet.
