Major wins for Dodgers
MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge boys swim team split a triangular with Bishop Garrigan and Mason City here Thursday night.
The Dodgers topped the Golden Bears, 103-48, and fell to the Riverhawks, 115-55. Mason City downed Bishop Garrigan, 126-35.
Brady Major won the 100 backstroke and the Fort Dodge 200 medley relay also placed first.
Major clocked a time of 1:08.66 to win his event by almost seven full seconds.
Swimming the 200 medley relay was Carter Jorgensen, Aiden Seagren, Evan Cooper and Kael Keith, as they clocked a time of 1:56.94 to win by three seconds.
Runner-up finishes for the Dodgers came courtesy Jorgensen in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Keith in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and Seagren in the 200 individual medley.
Bishop Garrigan had event winners in Matt Besch (100 butterfly) and Colin Roberts (100 breaststroke).
Fort Dodge heads to Boone on Saturday to swim against the host Toreadors, Atlantic, Carroll, Marshalltown and Williamsburg.
