Fehr adds fourth career medal

DES MOINES — West Bend-Mallard senior Allie Fehr capped off her track and field career with a fourth medal at the Class 1A state championships here on Friday.
The Wolverine placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 5-2 for a season-best. She had no trouble getting over the bar at 4-10 on her first attempt, making it over 5-0 and 5-2 on the second.
Fehr bowed out of the competition after three misses at 5-4. She also ran in the 400 hurdles, placing 15th overall.
Over the last four years, Fehr has competed in 10 events at the home of the Blue Oval. Last year, she was sixth in the 200-meter dash, seventh in the 100-meter dash and 10th in the high jump, placing eighth in the 200 as a sophomore.
North Union’s Max Heinen ended his freshman season with a medal, placing fifth in the high jump. Heinen cleared 6-1 on his second attempt, bowing out at 6-3.
Bishop Garrigan’s Amaury Thomas was 12th in the boys discus with a throw of 150-1 and teammate Jenna Peterson placed 15th in the girls discus with a best of 108-4.
The Mustangs distance medley of Ava Vie, Ellie Sievers, Rylee Hogrefe and Mareni Brabec placed ninth.
Newell-Fonda girls 4×400 relay of Elliot Hamilton, Ellie Sievers, Quinn Sievers and Rylee Hogrefe finished 16th in the prelims.
