Ledyard man dies in farming accident
Adams struck in the head by piece of equipment
LEDYARD — A Ledyard man is dead after he was struck in the head while working on a piece of equipment at a hog facility, according to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders were called on Saturday to 4906 110th Ave. for a report of a farming-related accident.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim, Ryan Chad Adams, 37, had died.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Adams and another person were attempting to work on a manure pump when a piece of the equipment disengaged and struck Adams in the head.
An autopsy will be performed at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny.
Kossuth County sheriff’s deputies and EMS from Swea City and Lakota responded.
