Fort Dodge boys earn three victories

MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge boys track and field team competed here Monday night at the Dave Long Relays hosted by Mason City.

Junior Jayce Point won the 800-meter run, and the Dodgers finished first in two relays.

Point went 2:09.47, topping teammate Cael Hansen in the two-lap event. Hansen was next in line with a time of 2:13.41.

Fort Dodge was first in the 4×400-meter relay behind Jamarius Echols, Point, Hansen and Joos Langkjaer, as the quartet clocked a time of 3:42.39. Sam Moser, William Jones, Noah Daniel and Echols claimed the sprint medley gold in 1:37.98.

The 4×800 relay of Point, Hansen, Simeon Roberts and Langkjaer took second in 8:48.23.

Daniel was the runner-up in the 100 in 10.87 and added a fourth in the 200 in 22.03.

Echols was fourth in the 400 (53.93), with Dalton Eckley (high jump, 5-6) and Luke Fierke (discus, 139-9) each placing sixth.

Algona’s Tate Garman won the 100, Owen Moe claimed the 400 hurdles and Max Nevitt won both the discus and shot put.

Fort Dodge is back in action next Tuesday when they host the Iowa Alliance Conference championships inside Dodger Stadium.
