Manson churches burglarized

Police chief: Suspects kicked in office doors

MANSON — An investigation is underway after three different Manson churches were broken into last week.

According to Police Chief Gerald Frick, the suspects burglarized St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Manson Mennonite Church.

The churches were burglarized between 8 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 24, Frick reported.

Frick believes two people entered the churches by prying open the doors. The doors were located in unlit areas.

Once inside, the suspects kicked in office doors, pried open desks and went through items, according to Frick.

The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash money, according to Frick.

Between the three churches, Frick estimates there is about $10,000 in damage.

Manson police have collected evidence from the scenes and are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information should call the Manson Police Department at 712-469-3759.
