FD High School Alumni Association awards scholarships

The Fort Dodge High School Alumni Association annually awards five scholarships to graduating seniors of Fort Dodge Senior High School who will be attending Iowa Central Community College. The scholarship recipients must have at least one parent who graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School to qualify for the award. Each scholarship is worth $1,000, or $500 per semester. Four area students honored by governor

Four area students were recently honored by Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg for their academic accomplishments. Those students are Emily Asay, from Fort Dodge Senior High School; Savannah Michalski, from Manson Northwest Webster High School; Anthony Wagner, from Fort Dodge Senior High School; and Michelle Waller, from St. Edmond High School. The Fort Dodge Community School District has named its students and employees of the month for May. This program recognizes one elementary, one middle school and one high school student, as well as one staff member monthly for exceeding expectations. Spring music program to be held at Community Christian

The spring musical program at Community Christian School is Thursday with a matinee at 1 p.m. and an evening program at 6 p.m. The program title is “Life is Good” and will include all students kindergarten through eighth grade. “Life is Good” is an apparel company today whose name is seen on many T-shirts, hats or water bottles. Fort Dodge Senior High students recently participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America State Leadership Conference in Des Moines. Students presented Students Taking Action with Recognition projects. STAR projects are competitive events where members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation.
