FDSH earns 7 medals at state SkillsUSA

Fort Dodge Senior High students earned seven medals at the State Skills USA competition at DMACC in Ankeny on April 25-26. Nineteen FDSH students competed in Team Works, Culinary, Technical Drafting, Automated Manufacturing, Restaurant Service, Auto Collision Repair, and Robotics Urban Search and Rescue. FDCSD Transitional Kindergarten open house set for Friday

Transitional Kindergarten Open House will take place Friday at Riverside Early Learning Center. This event is for parents/guardians who have a child ready to enter school in the fall (child must be 5 years of age by Sept. 15, 2019) and have either chosen TK for their child or are unsure about the decision between TK and kindergarten. Two MNW preschoolers complete reading program

MANSON — Wyatt Tucker and Christian Lamphier are two boys who love to read. Both were recently awarded trophies for completing 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (1KB4K), a joint venture between the Manson Northwest Webster Elementary Preschool and Library. Preschoolers enrolled in 1KB4K check out backpacks filled with 10 preschool-level books and take them home, where an older family member reads them each book. St. Ed Music Department participates in festival

The St. Edmond Catholic School Music Department traveled to Britt on April 6, participating alongside many other high schools in the IHSMA Solo/Small Ensemble Festival. In some cases, students had been practicing and memorizing solo repertoire since November and they were excited for their work to come to fruition. Of the 28 students, 25 of them returned with Division I (superior) honors as part of a solo or ensemble. FDSH holds Solo Ensemble Festival

Students in the Fort Dodge Senior High instrumental music department recently participated in the 2019 Solo and Ensemble Festival. Reverse Job Fair connects students to employers

The tables were turned as 17 students from Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmond High School participated in a reverse job fair where employers stopped by the students’ booths to learn more about their qualifications and interests. A reverse job fair gives the job seekers, in this case students, an opportunity to present themselves to employers.
