FD High School Alumni Association awards scholarships
The Fort Dodge High School Alumni Association annually awards five scholarships to graduating seniors of Fort Dodge Senior High School who will be attending Iowa Central Community College.
The scholarship recipients must have at least one parent who graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School to qualify for the award. Each scholarship is worth $1,000, or $500 per semester.
Here are this year’s scholarship recipients.
Boston Gordon
He is the recipient of the Cecil and Ernie Zuerrer Family Scholarship. His mother, Kim, is a 1980 graduate of FDSH. After completing his studies at Iowa Central Community College, Gordon plans to get his pilot’s license.
Tatem Rees
She is the recipient of the Fort Dodge Alumni Association Scholarship. Her mother, April Hanley, is a 1991 graduate of FDSH. She plans to earn a registered nurse degree at Iowa Central Community College and may go on to get a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Ebonee Altman
She is the recipient of the Phil Dorweiler Family Scholarship. Her father, Michael Altman, is a 1989 graduate of FDSH. She plans to earn an associate degree at Iowa Central Community College and then transfer to a four-year college to major in biology and apply to medical school.
Kennedie Oldson
She is the recipient of the Fort Dodge Alumni Association Scholarship. Her mother, Amy Jones, is a 1995 graduate of FDSH. She is undecided about her major, but is determined to further her education.
Keely Degner
She is the recipient of the Fort Dodge Alumni Association Scholarship. Her mother, Amanda Degner, and her father, Tim Kenyon, are both 1998 graduates of FDSH. She plans to major in radiology.
