Won’t watch Super Bowl

To the editor:

According to Fox News, AMVETS summited a paid ad for the Super Bowl showing the American Flag with a caption saying “Please Stand.” The NFL rejected the ad saying it was too “political.” Well Commissioner Goodell and the NFL, please excuse AMVETS and the rest of us veterans for expressing our opinion. Your players are allowed to kneel for the National Anthem but fine those players who wear shoes that are against NFL rules. Those who don’t kneel I applaud.

Everyone in America has their choice of opinions, but who has served and died for that choice? The men and women who have served and are serving our great country in the military along with their families who sacrifice while their love ones are away or their family member who made the ultimate sacrifice. So Mr. Goodell and the NFL players who kneel disrespecting our National Anthem, I hope the next time all of you will be praying for some guidance or an unexpected “bowl” movement. If not, and the National Anthem is not worth standing for you and those players should take the millions of dollars you earn and start another football league in another country. I will use my freedom of choice during the Super Bowl and watch a good movie like the “Patriot” or “They Were Expendable.”
