To the editor:

There’s no question Luke Fleener has been an outstanding sheriff. His commitment to the safety and protection of every citizen of Webster County is deeply felt by Sheriff Fleener and is reflected in the administration of his office. His passion to protect children from internet threats and to educate us all as to the nature of the threat have been comforting and inspiring. I was one who spoke against Sheriff Fleener’s plan to keep guns out of the courthouse, but on further reflection I was wrong. I support Iowa’s gun laws we have now, but to allow guns in a place like the courthouse is reckless.

Luke is very visible in our community, always ready to listen to a concern.

We still have a meth problem, but the meth dealers jump when they hear the name Luke Fleener. That’s a good thing.

Besides, the man loves horses. I urge you to join me in voting for Sheriff Luke Fleener in the primary and in the general election.
