United teams make noise nationally
Two youth squads based out of United All-Stars in Fort Dodge earned national championships recently for their performances at Inferno Midwest Nationals in Wisconsin Dells.
Mini Moonstones (first photo) placed first in the 8U small-group category, scoring higher than 20 other routines. They also received an Elite Platinum award, and a fifth place “Grand Champion” overall plaque among all 8U small groups and large groups. Team members are Aspyn Sells, Pipar Williams, Thea Baker, Birdie Garnica, Gemma Baker, Haylinn Jones and Zoelle Clark. Coach (back) is Emily Eastwood. Not pictured: Kambrie Jaeschke.
The UAS production of “Villains” (second photo) also secured national gold, as well as a first-place runner-up trophy in the Grand Champion competition among 71 routines.
