Dodgers in action at Carroll Invite
CARROLL — The Fort Dodge volleyball team earned one victory at the Carroll tournament this weekend.
The Dodgers (3-8 overall) beat IKM-Manning (20-22, 21-13, 15-13). They lost to Carroll (21-16, 21-16) and Newell-Fonda in three sets.
“Our strength is defense right now,” said FDSH co-head coach Beth Wilder. “We are working on consistency and intensity, which we have been getting better at.
“As a team we need to find a better overall rhythm and continue to grow.”
Senior Cadence Touney led the Dodgers with 16 kills. Classmate Meah McCaleb (13), junior LJ Maehl (eight) and junior Maeleena Meyer (six) also paced the Dodgers in attacking.
Maehl recorded six blocks, while McCaleb, Meyer and senior Grace Behrens contributed three each.
Senior Braxtyn Dencklau had 44 digs. McClaeb (38) and Touney (30) also led the Dodgers.
Senior Lucy Porter recorded 31 assists, with sophomore Ellie Doster tallying eight.
McCaleb (seven aces) and Dencklau (four) led the Dodgers at the service line.
The Dodgers are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Waterloo East.
