Gaels girls fall to Southeast Valley

GOWRIE — The St. Edmond girls golf team fell to Southeast Valley in their season opener on Tuesday.

The Jaguars shot a 218, while St. Edmond had a 278.

Taylor Willardson was the meet medalist for the Jaguars with a 51.

Recording counting scores were Audrey Carlson (54), Halle Steck (55) and Karah Hayes (58).

St. Edmond’s Ellie Driscoll (57) was the leader for the Gaels, followed by Kara McGonegle (69).

The Gaels are back in action on Friday at South Central Calhoun.

Humboldt tops FD girls in golf dual

Humboldt defeated the Fort Dodge girls golf squad on Tuesday at the Fort Dodge Country Club.

The Wildcats finished with a 203 compared to the Dodgers’ 226.

Aries Packard of Humboldt was meet medalist after carding a 44. FDSH junior Braxtyn Dencklau was the runner-up at 47.

McKenna Mathis (51) was next in line for the Wildcats. Felicity Strain (56) followed Dencklau’s efforts for the Dodgers.

Fort Dodge returns to action at Ames on Tuesday. The Wildcats host Pocahontas Area on Friday.
