BECOMING A LEADER

As part of a small senior class in terms of athletics, Leo Ehn has pushed himself to become a strong leader for St. Edmond.

Ehn has spent the better part of the last four years going from sport to sport, as he currently is involved in track and field with the Gaels.

Through the early part of the spring season, Ehn has recorded the top throw on the team in the discus while also running the 200, 400 and sprint medley relay.

“I have taken on the leadership role by treating it like any other season,” Ehn said. “I make sure I am working and competing my hardest, and make sure my team is doing the same.”

In the fall, Ehn caught 16 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns as St. Edmond won four games on the football field. He will conclude his prep career on the baseball diamond this summer after starting 18 games with four runs scored and six walks.

“Being a Gael athlete for the past four years has been great,” Ehn said. “It means a lot to me because of all of the great coaches and athletes involved in each sport along with all of the memories I have made.

“The thing I will miss most about being a Gael is being able to compete with my team.”

Ehn also played basketball and is involved in Play Like A Champion.

He plans to attend Iowa Central in the fall and go into the heating and air conditioning technology program.
