Every youth fish weighed in is eligible for a prize. The grand prize in the youth division is a bike.

The event has been sponsored by the MAGWED Foundation for the last 24 years.

Food and beverages are available to all participants. Plaques and prizes are presented to all winners, and many door prizes are given throughout the weigh-in session.

Fish from the following lakes qualify for the contest: East and West Okoboji, Big and Little Spirit Lake, Minnewashta, and Upper Lower Gar.

The MAGWED Foundation is not affiliated with any organization. All Iowa Department of Natural Resources regulations must be followed.

MAGWED was started by long-time Messenger Sports Editor Bob Brown in 1976.
