Three in a row for Dodgers

MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge volleyball team remained unbeaten in conference play, sweeping Mason City here Tuesday night.

Scores were 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18 as the Dodgers (7-3 overall) won their third straight match.

Meah McCaleb led the way for the Dodgers with 10 kills, adding 12 digs and an ace on 7 of 8 serving. Liv Totten had six kills with an ace while Mackenzie McIlrath also had six kills.

Lucy Porter recorded five kills with two blocks, Cadence Touney had four blocks with two aces and LJ Maehl two blocks. Macy Brown chipped in 14 digs on the night.

“It felt great to go on the road and get a win over our rival in their gym,” FDSH head coach Lexi Astor said. “We’ve been playing well at home so it was nice to carry that on the road.

“We are still working on keeping our level of play consistently high. That is something we need to get better at as the season goes on.”

The Dodger freshmen swept, as A won 25-16, 25-13 and B won 26-24, 19-25, 15-10. The JV2 team won 21-17, 17-21, 15-8, while JV1 fell 21-17, 14-21, 16-14.

Fort Dodge returns to action this weekend when they compete in Carroll at a tournament. Next home match is next Tuesday vs. Marshalltown.
