Empty The Shelters is back. Once again, the Bissel Pet Foundation has partnered with the Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa to offer free pet adoptions to approved applicants.

The event will be held beginning Wednesday through May 15. The shelter, 725 S. 32nd St., is open from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Fill out an adoption application online at www.almosthomeiowa.org or in person at the animal shelter. This event only runs for two weeks so get your applications in early so they can be approved, and you can walk out of the shelter with your new furry friend. Adoption applications typically take one to three days to be approved so please submit them as soon as you can.

There are no costs whatsoever associated with this event but only people with approved adoption applications can take advantage of this opportunity.
