Triton softball team earns road sweep

IOWA FALLS — The Iowa Central softball team claimed a road sweep over Ellsworth here Wednesday.

Scores were 11-6 and 10-1 in six innings.

In the opener, former Humboldt standout Alexis Hansen was 4-for-4 with three RBI including a homer and a triple, as Jayda Long drove in four. Kennedy Palmer had three hits while Aleena Sandy, Bre Nolte and Sydney Wilson each had two.

Sandy and Nolte both plated a pair of runs.

Morgan Weeks collected three hits and reached base four times in the nightcap, as Carly Ryan and Gabriella Taber both had two hits and two RBI.

Emma Hoyle and Long picked up wins inside the circle, as Long struck out six.

Iowa Central (33-17 overall, 16-8 in ICCAC) heads to Boone on Saturday to face Des Moines Area and Mason City on Sunday to meet North Iowa Area to conclude the regular season.
