Iowa Central clips Northeast in baseball

The seventh-ranked Iowa Central baseball team used a late rally to get past Northeast here Wednesday at Rogers Park, 7-6.

After the Hawks took a 6-2 lead in the seventh, the Tritons scored three in the eighth and two in the ninth to secure the win.

Troy Berg, Michael Siemer and Zakary Goodwin each had two hits, with Goodwin and Jack Mausser both driving in a pair of runs for Iowa Central (37-10 overall, 15-10 in ICCAC).

Berg scored twice on the day.

Jake Busson picked up the win.

Hunter Frost recorded six strikeouts in five innings of work and CJ Byrdak had three in relief.

The Tritons head to Burlington for a three-game series with Southeastern beginning Saturday.
