Dodgers win five events

MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge boys track and field team competed here Thursday evening at the Kenny Dean Invitational hosted by Marshalltown, picking up five first place finishes.

Jacob Marxen won the discus with a throw of 115-2, Connor Carver claimed the 110 hurdles in 15.40, Hunter Richardson captured the 400 hurdles in 1:01.36 and Noah Daniel won the 200 in 23.98.

The sprint medley of Val Hensley, TyReese Hill, Malaki Pettigrew and Richardson was first in 1:43.89.

“We were short-handed, but I loved the way the kids competed,” FDSH head coach Kevin Astor said. “We had a lot of strong performances and also saw some kids take part in new events and do really well.”

The distance medley of Pettigrew, Kyron Wilson, Richardson and Tanner Teske was second, with Carver placing third in the shot put and Hensley third in the long jump.

Fort Dodge returns to action on Monday when they host the Dodger Relays.
