Two-time defending state runner-up Fort Dodge enters the wrestling season as the highest ranked Iowa school in the InterMat Fab 50 national rankings.

Head coach Bobby Thompson’s Dodgers are 23rd overall, four spots ahead of reigning state champion Southeast Polk. West Des Moines Valley checks in at No. 46.

Senior Brody Teske is a three-time defending state champion, while Cayd Lara (2nd), Drew Bennett (3rd), Damond Lockner (4th) and Drevon Ross (8th) are other returning medalists.

Fort Dodge opens its season Nov. 30 at Des Moines/Hoover and Ames.

Blair Academy out of New Jersey holds the top spot followed by Wyoming Seminary from Pennsylvania and Buchanan out of California.

The rankings will be updated again in December and continue to be released until the final state tournament is completed.
