Wants yard sign back

To the editor: The American flag: “only the state flag goes on the pole under the American flag. The state flag can go on another pole with banners under it. Any other way is a disgrace to the flag. Will the Trump workers that took the sign I had in my yard please return it. Michael Madsen Fort Dodge

Says Prestage plant has improved Eagle Grove

To the editor: The two-year-old Prestage Foods of Iowa processing plant stimulates Eagle Grove’s local economy. On a positive note, congratulations are in order for Wright County Economic Development, Bryce Davis (Eagle Grove city manager) in particular, Wright County Board of Supervisors, state and local officials and interested bystanders. Being a resident of Eagle Grove, a former local businessman (retired), and a property owner, I would like to make a few comments on recent events (last five years) that have ultimately affected our lives in a positive manner. Thanks community for support in time of sorrow

To the editor: I wish we could say “thank you” to everyone that has touched our lives in these last days and weeks in a way that would give you as much gratitude as you deserve, but that would be impossible. To the Fort Dodge community, our family has been touched by ...

As a senator, Joe Biden was in charge of the crucifixion of Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork which set the tone for every Republican nominee since. Evidently, bullying seems to be OK with Democrats in the confirmation process. This is certainly not an ...

Biden will lift us up

To the editor: In four years we have seen our nation fracture along imaginary lines drawn by an administration determined to keep us at each other’s throats when we should be pulling together to fight common enemies like a very deadly virus, poverty, racial injustice, and unequal health care access. Joe Biden is just the person to unite us to overcome these challenges. As president he will fight for all of us rather than working to keep us fighting each other. We have lost 190,000 loved ones to COVID-19 in six months and we are headed toward 300,000 lost lives. Joe Biden will ...
