What Seniors Are Saying — In Step with Reese Pederson

Reese Pederson

1. What programs and activities do you participate in?

At Fort Dodge Senior High, I am involved with the Code Red and Dodger Dance team, band, jazz band, choir, All-State Choir, spring musical, fall play, large group speech, National Honor Society, and Student Athletic Advisory Committee. I am also on a competitive dance team at United All Stars.

2. What academic accomplishment are you most proud of?

My proudest academic accomplishment is having maintained a 4.0 in my college level classes from junior and senior year.

3. What’s your best piece of advice for younger students?

My best piece of advice would be to get involved and find the right group of people for yourself. I know the whole “getting involved” message is overdone, but getting involved is one of the best things you can do for yourself. My best memories from high school are times within my activities. By being involved, it will be easier for you to find a group of people you share interests and goals with, which will make your high school experience enjoyable, successful, and memorable.

4. What’s your go-to song or artist?

My go-to artist is Taylor Swift. She has a wide variety of music for any point of the day.

5. What is your favorite class or subject and why?

My favorite classes are music classes. Every day I start out with band or choir first period, and it is the best way to begin my day. I am doing something I love to do, and I also have a class period with great teachers and people.

6. What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is “Tangled.”

7. If you could have dinner with someone famous, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with Zendaya. She has pretty much done it all, from singing, dancing, modeling, and acting, so there would be so much to talk about.

8. What are you working hardest on right now? (Response was provided in April.)

At the moment I am hard at work with the FDSH spring musical “Les Miserables.” I’m playing the role of Cosette and our shows are later this week. I know the show will have ended by the time this is published, but I hope anyone who attended enjoyed the performance!

9. Who is your role model in life?

My role models are my parents. They have taught me how to be committed, a leader, hardworking, but also kind and compassionate. They have done so much for myself and my family and have always been the biggest supporters of everything I do. I would not be the person I am today without their guidance and love.

10. What is your favorite memory from your time in Fort Dodge schools?

My favorite memories from FDSH are the spring musicals, state dance, senior year homecoming, and the Tennessee band trip.

Starting at $2.99/week.
