10th anniversary Sac County Quilt-A-Fair begins

It is time to celebrate the fall season at the Sac County Quilt-A-Fair, which starts Sept. 19 and continues on Sept. 20. 315 quilts have been entered for this 10th anniversary show. All who entered quilts will deliver them to the Sac County Fairgrounds on Tuesday or Wednesday, September 16 or 17 between 1 and 7 p.m. Committee members and volunteers will hang all the entered quilts, then add the finishing touches to the decorations inside and outside. Faith UMC turkey dinner is Wednesday

HUMBOLDT — Faith United Methodist Church, 107 Fourth St. N., Humboldt, will be hosting its annual turkey dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meal pickup will be drive-through or carry-out only. All tickets will be $15. Dinner tickets are advance sale only and are limited to 650 tickets. Harcourt Public Library cornhole tournament is Sept. 27

HARCOURT — The Harcourt Public Library cornhole tournament is Sept. 27, at the Harcourt City Park Shelter, 106 W. Fourth St., Harcourt. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with the game starting at 2 p.m. Cost is $40 per team. Proceeds benefit the library. Fireside Chat set for Thursday

Webster County Conservation is holding a Fireside Chat at 6 p.m. Thursday at Camp WaNoKi, 2400 WaNoKi Camp Road. Local knappers, Donnie Arends and Matt Mitchell, will help beginners learn about the ancient art of flint knapping, creating a functional tool from stone. This hands on activity will allow participants to try to create their own “stone tool.” Other activities for kids will also be available. All ages are welcome.
