Community conversation on Medicaid is Wednesday

The public is invited to attend A Community Conversation on Medicaid, an important and timely discussion focused on Medicaid and its impact on the community. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the board room next to the Triton Cafe at Iowa Central Community College. Webster County Conservation summer art series continues Tuesday and Thursday

Webster County Conservation continues its summer art series at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center, 20 N. First St. Tuesday’s class is fall watercolors for children of any age. Thursday is adult watercolor. Deidra Miller-Clay, Fort Dodge Senior High art instructor, will lead participants through a variety of art mediums. Cost is $5 per participant. Register online at mycountyparks.com. Camp Algona open house honors Dwaine Lighter, Veteran of the Year

ALGONA — Camp Algona holds its annual open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Museum, 114 N. Thorington St., Algona. The open house is held in conjunction with the Algona Chamber of Commerce “Party in the Park” which is the same evening on the lawn of the Carnegie Library. Each year Camp Algona highlights a local veteran with an in-depth exhibit and a brief presentation on the person’s service in World War II. Youth trap shoot is Aug. 9

Webster County Conservation is holding a youth trap shoot from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 9 at the Iowa Central Community College trap range, 2091 Richmill Road. The shoot is for ages 12 through 18. KYL children’s department August events scheduled

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library, Webster City, children’s department will be having a variety of events in August. Children’s special events are: Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a Family Foam Party at Kendall Young Library, Webster City. This is a free event for the whole family. Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a Kids Bake Off at Webster City Market Night. Drop of your baking creation by 5 p.m. at the Kid Zone. There will be three age categories.
