Webster County Conservation is holding a Fireside Chat at 6 p.m. Thursday at Camp WaNoKi, 2400 WaNoKi Camp Road. Local knappers, Donnie Arends and Matt Mitchell, will help beginners learn about the ancient art of flint knapping, creating a functional tool from stone. This hands on activity will allow participants to try to create their own “stone tool.” Other activities for kids will also be available. All ages are welcome.
WEBSTER CITY – Friends of Kendall Young Library is hosting its annual Fall Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 27. This sale will have a wide collection of children’s and adult books along with DVDs and audiobooks. Make plans to attend.
