Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1436 21st Ave. N., will hold its annual car show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. There will be door prizes and trophies awarded. Freewill donation to enter. Free hot dog, chips and a drink will be provided. Ice cream floats will be for sale. Proceeds will be donated to Lutheran Family Service of Iowa.
The summer concerts by the Karl L. King Municipal Band continue on Sunday evening, starting at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission charge, courtesy of the City of Fort Dodge. These concerts are held at the Karl L. King Bandshell in Oleson Park. Dan Cassady returns to the podium this week as conductor, and Paul Bloomquist returns as announcer. Again at the Webster County Fair, is the Open Quilt Show. Enter your quilts and showcase your talent. Entry fee is $2, which will be collected at Tillie’s Quilts, 17 S. 12th St. in Fort Dodge with your entry, by 4 p.m. on Friday. Judging will be done prior to the fair and ribbons will be awarded. All entries will be on display during the fair July 15 to 19.
