Heartland Museum to hold annual book sale June 20-27

Clarion — Heartland Museum is holding its annual used book sale through June 27. Books have been donated and proceeds will be used for Heartland’s 4-H schoolhouse roof repair. The gift shop also will be open on the sale days. Book prices are $1 for hard cover, 50 cents for soft cover, and 25 cents for kids books and romance books. The Kossuth County Genealogical Society and the Algona Affiliate of AAUW will be hosting their 14th annual cemetery walk, Voices from the Past, during Founders’ Day weekend in Algona, July 9-12. A graveside presentation will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on July 9 at Riverview Cemetery. The main gate of the cemetery is at the north end of Phillips Street in Algona. Call for photography entries The Webster County Fair will offer an open photography class once again this year giving the public the opportunity to showcase their work as well as receive feedback through judging. Entries will be accepted beginning Tuesday through July 2 at the Webster County Extension office located at 822 Central Ave. Suite 102 (in the Wells Fargo building) in Fort Dodge. CLARION — The North Iowa Food & Community Care Network and Wright Community Connections are presenting the performance of Mary Swander’s new play “Coop,” starring Rip Russell, to be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Clarion Public Library, 302 N.
