Elderbridge Agency on Aging and Upper Des Moines Opportunity have partnered for “Santa for Seniors.” 2025 has been a difficult year for all of us, with things ever-changing. As the holiday season approaches, it has brought even more isolation to our seniors. Seniors in our community need our support, now more than ever. In some cases, seniors in our area are living on a very limited income and may not be with their family at Christmas. Time for Angels is Dec. 7

“Time for Angels” is 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St. In recognition that the holidays can be a difficult time for those experiencing grief, individuals and their families are invited to join Gunderson Funeral Home for a program filled with a message of hope and love. Please contact Gunderson Funeral Home at 515-576-7128 to add a name to the list of those to be remembered. At the conclusion of the service, all will be invited to the church fellowship hall where refreshments will be served.

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Christmas fair is Dec. 6

CALLENDER — Women of the Word at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Callender, are holding its annual Christmas Fair from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall. There will be a bake sale, lefse sale and lunch. Beef burgers or chicken salad in a Krumkake bowl with salads, cookies and Scandinavian pastries will be served for $10. The fellowship hall is handicap accessible through the north or south doors.

Weekly Programs LEGO Build (children’s department) — Each Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. throughout December, there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills.
