KYL is issuing new library cards

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library is encouraging patrons to get a new library card or renew throughout the month of August. It is the perfect addition to your back-to-school supplies. Each new card or renewal will receive a free book.

Singer/pianist Tom Lichter will perform at the Fonda Arts Center on Aug. 30

FONDA — The Fonda Arts Center will host singer/pianist Tom Lichter at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30. Lichter is a graduate of Fonda High School where he was recognized from the onset as one of those who “wears his music like his skin” — a natural. A Newell-area resident, he has been sharing the joy of his talent ever since with audiences of all ages. All this is happening at the Fonda Arts Center on the northwest corner of Fourth and Main Streets in Fonda. Everyone is welcome. As always, admission and refreshments are free; donations are greatly appreciated.

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold a variety of events in August open to youths of all ages (children under 8 years old must have an adult present). Fall programming begins on Friday. Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books — Drop in Friday at the library. Students can celebrate the first week of school with an afternoon snack and pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event. Children’s Mini Makerspace — Mondays are a great day to create.
