Kendall Young closures scheduled

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be closed today and Saturday for the 4th of July holiday. On July 21, the library will close at 4:30 p.m. for the Hamilton County Fair Parade.

WCCT Presents Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’

WEBSTER CITY — Webster City Community Theatre invites audiences to journey beneath the waves this June as nearly 40 area children bring “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.” to life on the WCCT stage. Based on the beloved Disney classic, the production follows Ariel, a curious young mermaid who dreams of exploring the world above the sea. Lake paddling set for Tuesday

Webster County Conservation will hold lake paddling from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Badger Lake in John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, 1415 Nelson Ave., Fort Dodge. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided. Register online if you need equipment. If you already have your own kayak and life jacket, no registration is needed. Teen Summer Reading Program — Patrons entering sixth through 12th grades are invited to join in a variety of “Plant a seed, Read” summer programs. A special night at the bandshell

The Sunday evening concerts by the Karl L. King Municipal Band of Fort Dodge will continue with a concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Band Shell in Oleson Park. Dan Cassady is the Band’s Conductor, and Paul Bloomquist is the band’s announcer. There will be many special treats in store as well, even before the band starts playing. The Southeast Valley School Fine Arts Boosters will be there around 6:30 p.m. to offer ice cream and fresh-baked goodies for a freewill donation to support their school programs.
