Cemetery walk features Voices from the Past

The Kossuth County Genealogical Society and the Algona Affiliate of AAUW will be hosting their 14th annual cemetery walk during Founders’ Day weekend in Algona, July 9-12. A graveside presentation will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Riverview Cemetery. The main gate of the cemetery is at the north end of Phillips Street in Algona. Audience members are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring their own lawn chairs. The Sunday evening, concert by the Karl L. King Municipal Band will celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the Karl L. King Band Shell in Oleson Park, located in the southeastern part of the City of Fort Dodge. Vacation Bible school is July 14-17

St. Olaf Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church are partnering to hold vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 14-17 for ages 6 to 12 years old. The theme is “Lego and Trust God.” There will be an Option Fellowship Camp until 3 p.m. on July 14 and 16. Lunch will be provided to those staying. June 17 will end at 12 p.m. with a block party. Family members are invited to attend. The cost is by freewill donation. It is being held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St.
