FD Choral Society names scholarship winners

The Fort Dodge Choral Society has announced that three scholarships of $1,000 each have been awarded for the 2019-20 school year to vocal music students attending college and majoring in vocal music. This year’s scholarship recipients include: Levi Capesius, from Algona, who is a junior music education and vocal performance major at Wartburg. CCS offers Little Crusaders day care

Community Christian School, 2406 9 1/2 Ave. S., started the Little Crusaders Daycare in January 2019. Kathy Dencklau directs the day care. She moved her existing day care to CCS, providing more capacity for children. The Little Crusaders Daycare provides year-round care for infants to school-age children. A summer program for preschool and school-age children was also initiated. The start-up of the new daycare was supported by Linking Families and Community, contributing a $23,000 grant. A low-cost internet option is available for K-12 students in the Fort Dodge Community School District who qualify for free or reduced-price school lunch through the National School Lunch Program. “Home internet access is a tool that can help our students continue their learning outside the classroom,” said Jennifer Lane, Fort Dodge Community School District director of communications.
