FDSH to present ‘A Little Piece of Heaven’

The Fort Dodge Senior High drama department will present “A Little Piece of Heaven” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 2 in the Gail Niceswanger Little Theater at Senior High. In this play, an unlikely relationship is forged in the quirky tourist shop called “A Little Piece of Heaven.” Restless biker, Mike, who works in the shop, finds a friend in the sassy elderly Lily, although their relationship doesn’t start out that way. FDCSD names October students, employee of month

The Fort Dodge Community School District has named its students and employees of the month for October. This program recognizes one elementary, one middle school and one high school student, as well as one staff member monthly for exceeding expectations. Chance Lockman is the Elementary Student of the Month. Samantha Harms and Jean Black nominated him. They said Lockman always puts forth his best effort in the classroom. Area marching bands to compete Saturday

The North Central Iowa Marching Band Clinic and Competition will be held Saturday at Dodger Stadium. Ten bands will participate in the festival: Fort Dodge Senior High, ADM, Algona, Aplington-Parkersburg, Carroll, Estherville, IKM, Madrid, Saydel and Iowa Central Community College. The morning and early afternoon will consist of clinics for the bands hosted by the judges for the event.
