The Webster City volleyball team bounced back to win three straight sets and turn back St. Edmond in a North Central Conference matchup on Thursday.

The Gaels (3-14 overall) won the opening game, 25-20. The Lynx (9-8) pulled away in the next three sets to earn the match victory, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-17.

“We came out a little bit flat,” said WCHS head coach Jess Howard. “But we kept things in motion and settled in to win the final three sets.”

Adeline Tesdahl led the Lynx in digs with 19. Cloe Savitski added 18, while Delainey Bargfrede tallied 12 and Ava Peterson contributed 11.

Bargfrede finished with 24 assists. Peterson checked in with 17.

Tesdahl recorded 12 kills. Olivia Gallentine, Marissa Hedeen and Bargfrede added 10 each.

Gallentine and Adysen Poppen led the Lynx with five blocks a piece, while Orton had four and Tesdahl three.

“The girls faced some adversity (in game three) and reacted well,” Howard said. “Defensively we didn’t give them a second chance.”

Webster City is back in action on Tuesday when they host Clear Lake. St. Edmond returns to action on Monday at Eagle Grove.
