Another win for Triton women

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Iowa Central women picked up a 75-64 victory over Rochester Tech here Saturday in their first road contest of the season.

Carley West scored 22 points and Nevaeh Galloway added 16 for the Tritons (6-0 overall).

Iowa Central raced out to a 20-12 lead after one as Autumn Dykstra scored seven points in the opening 10 minutes. She finished with 12 points in the game.

Ashley Fountain also reached double figures, scoring 10 with two steals and two assists. Jayden Frank had six points, seven rebounds and four assists, West had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals, and Galloway added six boards with a pair of assists and two steals.

Frank, Galloway and West each blocked a shot.

Off the bench, Emma Scurek scored four points with four rebounds.

West, a Minnesota native, carried the offense in the fourth with 12 of Iowa Central’s 26 points. She knocked down three 3-pointers and was 4 of 5 from the field over the final 10 minutes.

The Tritons shot 69 percent from the field and made 4 of 5 triples during that final quarter of play.

For Rochester Tech, Myia Ruzek scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds, while Ravyn Miles scored 13.

Iowa Central returns to action Monday when they travel to Lamoni to play the Graceland JV at 5:30 p.m.
