WATERLOO — The Fort Dodge boys finished off this week’s three-game road trek with another win, rallying past Waterloo West 48-43 in overtime here on Saturday.

Trey Mosley scored 14 points, Jordan Jackson added 10 and Malcolm Clayton hit a game-tying three-pointer to force the extra session. Clayton finished the game with eight points.

“The kids showed a lot of resilience,” FDSH head coach Tom Daniel said. “This was the most physical game we’ve had this year and the guys stayed together even when we were down.

“I thought we showed a lot of playoff mettle. Going 3-0 with three away games against good competition … I am extremely happy.”

Fort Dodge (10-7 overall) reached double figures in wins for the fourth time in the past five seasons by defeating Ankeny, Urbandale and West in consecutive fashion.

Mosley got the Dodgers on the board first in overtime with a bucket against the Wahawks, who were coming off an upset of fourth-ranked (Class 4A) Cedar Falls Friday night.

“Trey hit a big shot to get us going and we made some free throws down the stretch,” Daniel said. “Aaron Porter gave us a lot of good minutes, Jace Peterson had a strong first half and Malcolm made big baskets when we needed them.”

West (11-7) led by eight points with just over four minutes to go before Fort Dodge rallied. Clayton’s three-pointer with under 10 seconds to go tied the game, and the Wahawks missed a desperation attempt.

Carondis Harris-Anderson and Nick Pepin each scored 11 for Waterloo West. Earlier this season, Harris-Anderson scored 50 for the Wahawks and came into the night averaging 24.

Fort Dodge returns home on Tuesday, hosting Ankeny Centennial.
