Fort Dodge bowlers win a pair

The Fort Dodge bowling teams picked up two victories at Ridgewood Lanes on Thursday, knocking off Des Moines Hoover.

The Dodger boys won 2,926-2,815 and the girls won 2,468-1,912.

Jared Jacobson led the Dodger boys (3-4 overall) with a 479 series. Jacobson had games of 232 and 247. Kaleb Anderson also had a 400 series at 38. He had games of 238 and 200.

Tre Preston rolled a 399 with a 206 high. Nate Stanley (370), Ethan Graves (314) and Jacob Schroeder (287) also competed.

“These two teams are coming together and are gaining every week,” said Fort Dodge head coach Don Ervin. “Their togetherness is gaining and they’re talking and working good together.”

On the girls side, Leah Sanck led the Dodgers (6-1) with a 390 series. She had games of 206 and 184. Lexi Hemann had a 199 and 128 for a 327.

Also rolling for the Dodgers were Lauren Hade (310), Katie Flores (298) and Bethany Armbruster (273).

“Niccole (Ervin-Begalle) has really been working hard with the girls,” Ervin said. “She has them bowling together and they have come together to be a powerhouse.”

The Dodgers are back in action on Thursday when they host Urbandale.
