West paces Triton women
Brittany West scored 28 points to help lead the Iowa Central women to a 71-62 victory over Central-Columbus here Friday night inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
The Tritons (4-5 overall) overcame an early deficit, outscoring the Raiders 17-11 in the second quarter.
West, a freshman, hit eight 3-pointers in the game, as Iowa Central was 11-for-26 from the 3-point line.
Sarah Rolling recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Rolling, a sophomore, was 7 of 9 from the floor and made a 3-pointer.
Rachel Toto added nine points, five rebounds and five assists, with Kira Ward grabbing eight boards. Mardaeja Cross had eight points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Maddy Wolfe led Central-Columbus with 15 points.
The Tritons take on Northeast Saturday with tip set for 4 p.m.
