The St. Edmond volleyball team was firing on all cylinders Tuesday night, when they swept Manson Northwest Webster in the Gael gym.

The Gaels (15-11 overall) won 25-14, 25-18 and 25-17.

“We just put together one of our best matches start to finish of the season,” said St. Edmond head coach Dee Huss. “We did the little things defensively and came up with some really fun points.

“Our serving was solid again.”

St. Edmond finished the night 68-for-71 serving as a team with eight aces.

“The girls have put two really solid performances together back-to-back and are starting to peak at the right time,” Huss said. “We will continue to focus on our aggressiveness and keeping our opponent on their heels. We as coaches have seen so much potential in this group, but now I think they are starting to believe it as well.

“I give a lot of credit to our back row as we continue to focus on the importance of the first touch whether it be offensively or defensively it needs to be a quality one.”

Jacque Oberg was 13 of 14 serving with an ace and nine digs.

Josie Huss was perfect at the service line, going 14-for-14 with two aces, five kills and nine digs.

Hannah Huss was 10 of 11 with two aces, 20 kills, two blocks and 18 digs.

Hannah Schaeffer had four kills and two blocks.

Erin Flattery finished with seven kills, 6 of 6 serving and four blocks.

Devyn Scott had six kills and three blocks.

Macey Mason was 11 of 12 serving with 14 digs.

Livi Huss had two aces on 15-for-15 serving with 10 digs.

“I think our communication was really good and we never gave up,” Huss said. “Our hitters were very consistent and kept the defense guessing while our middle blockers probably put together on of their best performances at the net.

“We still have a lot of work to do but I am liking what I see from the entire team.”

The Gaels are back in action on Thursday when they host Hampton-Dumont. Action begins at 7:30 p.m.
