Fundraiser succeeds

To the editor:

First United Methodist members accomplish so much with the semi-annual rummage/bake sale: financial support for missions, sharing with other organizations and having fun as a congregation.

The ripple effect of the sale is amazing because not only do we raise money for our missions, the donated items also benefit many other people. We shared clothing, household goods, and books with 11 other organizations, including: Boy Scout Troop No. 9, Lord’s Cupboard, Fort Dodge Public Library, D/SAOC, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Iowa Retired School Personnel, Village General Store, AFES (Athletics for Education and Success), Freedom Point, Community Manna Meal, and Goodwill Industries

The church rummage sale would not be a success without the help and support of many people.

Thank you to:

• The Messenger that helped promote the sale with ads, articles, the Community Calendar and “Go and Do” listing.

• Boy Scout Troop No. 9 that set up the tables for the sale.

• The many people who donated items, made delicious baked items and helped with the sale.

• The people who support our missions by purchasing items. See you in the fall (Oct. 12-14) for our next sale.
