Webster County Fair succeeds

To the editor:

The Webster County Fair Board would like to thank everyone that helped with the 2015 Webster County Fair. Volunteers are what make this fair possible.

We appreciate the work that PICA did at our fairgrounds this year. Thanks to all 4-H/FFA kids/families, leaders, superintendents, Linda Cline, the Extension staff and livestock fair secretary Jo Seltz. Their hours of work on and off the grounds help to improve our fairgrounds.

Thanks to groundskeeper Ron Webb for his work throughout the year. His countless hours of work and dedication make such a difference. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thanks to the volunteers for hours spent organizing and running the Open Shows in photography, baking, Bill Riley Show, Little Miss Contest, BBQ Cook-off – watch for additional Open Show areas in 2016 that the public will want to participate in.

We appreciate The Messenger and Consumer News coverage. Many thanks to the Dayton Leader, FD Press, Twist & Shout, Fort Dodge Convention and Visitors Bureau and Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance for their online fair coverage. Thanks for your support of the fair.

The Antique Tractor Club is a wonderful addition to the fair. Fair-goers young and old enjoy and learn so much at your site on our grounds. Thank you for your kids’ rides, food, shows and knowledge. We are happy to have you as a part of the Webster County Fair.

The Fair Board would like to thank the county supervisors for their support, as well as all of the families and businesses that made a monetary donation or donated their time, labor or equipment; it is what makes this fair possible. Our sponsors list can be found on our website.

Farm Bureau sponsored the Sweet Corn and Watermelon Feed, BBQ Cook-off and Pedal Pull. We appreciate your support of the fair.

We can’t thank Scott Anderson and Don Bruns enough for their hours of work each year on the race schedule, track and running the events. Without their volunteer work and the track helpers, these events would not happen.

We thank the families and businesses that attended the livestock and woodcarving auction, supporting the youths and Fair Board.

Last but not least, thanks to our families/friends who also volunteered to make events run smoothly.
