To the editor:

For those in the 4th District (Precincts 1, 3, 6, and 7), I urge you to consider casting your ballot for Rod Halvorson in the Nov. 4 election for supervisor. Rod is an intelligent, well-educated, conscientious individual who has dedicated much of his life to public service. He genuinely cares about people and the community, and will work hard to accomplish what is best for us all.

As a former state legislator, Rod is exceptionally qualified for the position. During his tenure in the Iowa Legislature (16 years in the House, four years in the Senate), Rod brought about progress through bipartisanship. Among his many accomplishments, Rod was instrumental in the passage of the Access Iowa Highway System, which included the four-lane Highway 20 project. He is also credited with helping bring the Correctional Facility (and 300 jobs) to Fort Dodge.

The voters of the 4th District have an opportunity to add a seasoned public servant to the Webster County Board of Supervisors. Candidates with experience and skill of this magnitude are rare. Seize the opportunity in front of you. Vote for Rod Halvorson Nov. 4.
