To the editor:

I am writing in support of Randy Feenstra for governor of Iowa. Please vote for him in the June 2 GOP Primary.

This is a consequential election, and It is vitally important that we nominate someone who has the background, experience and record of results that will help propel our state forward while Iowa will face tough challenges over the next few years.

I’ve known Randy for many years, during both his time in the Iowa Senate and in Congress. I know he wants to do what is best for Iowa.

When I would visit Randy in Washington, D.C. on behalf of Iowa Central with our Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and our local government officials advocating for our region of Iowa, he and his staff were always welcoming and would greet us by saying “How can we help you”?

Those conversations resulted in Randy introducing legislation to end taxes on Pell Grants and cosponsoring legislation pertaining to the Community College Agriculture Advancement Act which was included in the Farm Bill he supported. This new program will fund grants for rural community college agriculture programs, like Iowa Central and Iowa Lakes.

Randy also wrote and helped pass the largest tax cuts in Iowa history, as well as tax reform at the federal level. He had 15 of his provisions to support Iowa agriculture included in the Farm Bill, and passed year-round E-15 out of the House of Representatives after a decade of gridlock.

This success does not surprise me. He will bring Iowans together to get good things done for this state . Based on his successful record, I encourage you to join me in supporting Randy Feenstra on June 2 in the GOP primary.
